About Kait

Kait Newton graduated from Auburn University with a major in political science and minors in English and dance. After co-founding a consulting firm, Newton Analytical, she attended SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas, TX.

During law school, she participated in the Judge Elmo B. Hunter Legal Center for Victims of Crimes Against Women Clinic, where she gained a passion for and first hand experience with working for victims of family and intimate partner violence. She has worked with a variety of pro bono causes, such as Scottish Rite for Children Hospital in Dallas. Kait served as a legal intern in the 330th District Court of Dallas County under the mentorship of the Honorable Danielle Diaz. She was also Vice President of the SMU Sports and Entertainment Law Association for two years, as well as the SBA Merchandise Chair, working closely with her peers and with members of the administration for the betterment of SMU Dedman Law.

Kait believes that being a true advocate for her clients involves being able to explain the law to them in order to help them take ownership of their issues, and to feel empowered through what can be a confusing and stressful process. While her passion began with family law, Kait stands ready to handle many legal matters for her clients, and is a fervent believer that everyone deserves someone in their corner.

Kait is admitted to the State Bar of Texas, and is practicing in Dallas County, Collin County, Denton County, Ellis County, Rockwall County, and Tarrant County.

Kait lives in Dallas, TX, with her husband, Kevin, and their two Australian Shepherds, Fitzy and Leo (named after characters from The West Wing). She loves trying new restaurants in Dallas, traveling with her family, watching college football and tennis, and reading anything she can get her hands on. Kait is a member of the Junior League of Dallas and the Episcopal Church.
